DAAA Haus wins the German Design Circle Award

DAAA Haus collects the German Design Circle Award in Frankfurt as “gold winner” in the category of Excellencies for Interior Architecture with the project of the Cugó Gran Macina Grand Harbor boutique hotel, a historic fortress that dominated the port of the Maltese city of Senglea.

“We are very honored to receive this award for the Cugó Gran Macina Grand Harbor Hotel – says Keith Pillow, founder and creative director of DAAA HAUS – which was a long project, it took 7 years. We have been involved since the beginning of the project, not only because of its design. It was love at first sight. Shortly after seeing the site we worked, for the first time, as promoters looking for investors and to follow with the owners on a long restoration plan.

Along the way, we encountered many obstacles and it was not easy to get to this point. In the end, however, everything turned out to be perfect.

So this award confirms that vision, determination and hard work always pay off. None of this would have been possible without the support of the great team of professionals who make up DAAA Haus. All the designers and architects who worked on different parts of this project took the project to heart.

Special thanks also to the investors / developers – Mario Camilleri and Mr. Stephen Azzopardi who trusted us without hesitation. Thanks to the German Design Council for welcoming this project. When we received the news of the nomination, we were elated. Winning gold in this category, excellence in interior architecture, is the best way to close off the deep bond that has been created with this project “.
